Aircraft catastrophe in Madrid

2008.08.20
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that the nationalities of the plane’s passengers are currently being checked. Most probably there were no Polish citizens among the victims.

Employees of the Consular Section of the Polish Embassy in Madrid, who are remaining in contact with Spanish rescue services and with the LOT representative in Spain, are waiting for final confirmation of this information. Please also be informed that there is absolutely no possibility of passengers of the LOT Polish Airlines flight to Madrid continuing their flight to the Canary Islands. The Polish aircraft had already arrived after the Spainair flight started.

Up-to-date information can be obtained by calling the Embassy in Madrid: +34 91 373 60 49 and the MFA duty telephone number: +48 22 523 9000.
