Thanks to its potential Vietnam is one of Poland’s crucial partners in South-East Asia. The tradition of the two countries’ bilateral cooperation is one of long standing and trust. Poland attaches great importance to developing economic cooperation with Vietnam as well as to maintaining good political contacts. The past decade saw visits at head-of-state and head-of-government levels (President Aleksander Kwaśniewski’s 1999 visit to Vietman and President Tran Duc Luong’s 2003 visit to Poland, and Prime Minister Marek Belka 2005 visit to Vietnam and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s 2007 visit to Poland).
