It is with a great sense of loss that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs bids farewell to Krzysztof Skubiszewski – the first Foreign Minister of the free Poland.

We were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Krzysztof Skubiszewski. He was not only a man of great culture and an outstanding lawyer of international renown but also a founding father of the fundamental treaties of the new Poland. With his distinguished manners, predictability, and considerable international refinement Krzysztof Skubiszewski knew how to create that unique atmosphere around Poland as a partner, one that is part of solutions and not part of problems. For all he stood for he is most worthy of universal recognition of world leaders.
Radosław Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs
The book of condolence shall be placed at the Przezdziecki Palace at 6 Foksal, Warsaw between 10 am and 3 pm on Wednesday and Thursday on 10-11 February 2010.
