Visit to Poland of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov

On 10th September, at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, arrived for a working visit to Warsaw. During the meetings planned for 11th September, the Russian head of diplomacy have been meeting Minister Radosław Sikorski and also was received by the Prime Minister, Donald Tusk.

The Polish and Russian foreign ministers discussed issues regarding mutual relations, including matters such as preparations for the fifth meeting of the Polish – Russian Strategic Cooperation Committee. During the talks, issues regarding the current international situation were raised, including the development of the situation surrounding the Georgian – Russian conflict and the prospects for EU – Russian relations.

The programme for the visit also envisages a meeting with Ministers Sikorski and Lavrov and participants of the III Polish-Russian Civil Dialogue Forum.
