“Our talks today about the events that unfolded in Ankara in July supplemented the main agenda which focused on the challenges to international policy, many of which unfortunately exist both around Turkey, and around Romania, and Poland. Our views and our positions on many of the points discussed are almost identical,” said Minister Witold Waszczykowski, who is paying a visit to Turkey’s capital.
On Friday, Minister Witold Waszczykowski has accompanied Prime Minister Beata Szydło during a meeting of the Visegrad Group’s (V4) prime ministers with Chancellor Angela Merkel. The heads of state discussed the informal meeting of the EU member states’ leaders (without the UK’s participation) which is scheduled to take place in Bratislava in mid-September.
An official send-off for Pope Francis took place at the military section of Balice Airport close to Kraków on Sunday evening. The Holy Father was bade farewell by President Andrzej Duda and the First Lady. Prime Minister Beata Szydlo and several ministers, including Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski, also took part in the ceremony which was attended by the Polish Army's Honour Guard.
