    “I would like to express my condolences and sympathy to the victims’ families and close ones and to all those who have been affected,” the chief of Polish diplomacy wrote in a condolence message to Portugal’s Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva.

    “Please accept my sincere condolences on the tragic fire in Pedrógão Grande in Central Portugal in which many people have lost their lives, and many are injured,” Minister Witold Waszczykowski wrote.

    The fire that broke out on 17 June in Portugal’s Pedrógão Grande area has killed several dozen people. According to local authorities, the death toll could still rise.
