“Georgia should be applauded as the leader of the Eastern Partnership. The European Union should be proud that its project has contributed to such a success,” said the MFA head during his meeting with Georgia’s Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze.

During talks today, Deputy Minister Szymański stressed Poland’s continued and strong support for the process of Georgia’s integration with the EU and NATO. In the context of the upcoming Eastern Partnership summit, he said in turn that Georgia’s ambitions to obtain a stronger set of cooperation instruments with the EU are deeply justified. The Polish MFA deputy head also drew attention to the problem of the breakaway regions - Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, recalling Poland’s strong support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders. Minister Janelidze thanked Poland for its active support of Georgia in its efforts to integrate with the West European structures.
